Nectar was formed when vocalist/guitarist Jean-Paul Le Du dared his little sister, Nathalie, to sing one of his songs if she thought she could do better. Her voice, his guitar and their sibling rivalry proved a potent combination. The brother-and-sister duo grew into Nectar after adding Argentinian-born Ricardo Ponce on bass, Paul Cesario on drums, and Will Burgaleta on keys.

Nectar’s music is at once edgy and dreamy–an enigmatic fusion of melodic styles over unwavering and aggressive bass and drum. Based in Queens, they are energizing audiences all across the tri-state areas with their bewitching live show in such venues as Googies Lounge, The Bitter End, Kennys Castaway, The Baggott Inn, and Trash Bar.

Their recent CD release, Jump the Fence, busts genres with its poignant lyrics, addictive melodies, and dramatic harmonies to create brazen and haunting rock.

Jump the Fence out now...
Jump the Fence (2009) is Nectar’s worthy debut, with the heroically self-propelling “8th Street Room” and haunting lyrics, “I’ll learn to fly as I fall.” Nectar launches with wild and emotional songs on Jump the Fence.
